5 Wood Hybrid Golf Club?

I am looking to buy just one hybrid for my golf bag.

Is a 5 (wood) hybrid a good choice? A versatile club?

Typically, people replace their long irons 2,3,4 irons with a hybrid of the same number. They are easier to hit than the 2,3,4 irons and that is what makes them attractive. A 5 hybrid is not going to go nearly as far a 5 wood. so you will be replacing a much longer club with a shorter one
