Is it better to Incorporate or get a LLC?

I want to start a "sole proprietor" technology (website development, networking and video production) / business management services (teaching community education courses).
I know my range is wide but my plan is solid.

im assuming you are the sole owner? if so, you can just use Schedule C of your tax return to report your income/expenses of your business. there is such an entity as a "single member LLC" but this is disregarded for tax purposes. the activity from your business would be recorded the same on your individual tax return.

if there are other shareholders, i recommend setting up as an S-Corporation. the business would file a corporate tax return, and you would receive a K-1 from it, which reports your % share of the income/loss of the business. you would report this income/loss on your individual tax return. the corporation does not pay federal or state taxes. instead, you would pay the tax on your % of the income with your individual tax return.
