Is a golf swing about speed or acceleration?

In other words, would a ball go farther with a higher clubhead speed, or with slower speed but faster acceleration?

Assuming you mean this in a physics sense (and not in a "how to play the game" sense), then it's all about speed at point of contact.

It's not clear what you're referring to with acceleration, either the club or the ball. If you mean the club, then swing profiles with different accelerations but the same speed at impact are all going to have almost identical results. The contact time is too short for any differences in club acceleration to matter. But in most situations, your question won't make sense because higher accelerations will lead to higher speed. They don't play off each other.

If you mean the ball, then club speed is driving that acceleration. There's no way to separate the two.

Here's a golf site talking about some of the math behind it. You'll note that all the figures depend on club speed, not any specific acceleration to create that speed.
