How do I get the knicks out or off of my putter?

I bought a Scotty Cameron studio style 2.5 putter used and its a bit knocked up. How can I get it cleaned up and maybe the knicks out. Any household cleaning products used?

You have a wonderful putter and will proper care will give you many years of enjoyment. A putter that good should be given good care. I strongly suggest that you not attempt refurbish the face of the putter yourself. Take the putter to a professional and have him do the refurbishment. This putter is worth the cost of professional care. You will be glad you did. You will get years of enjoyment from it.
