Any tips for long irons?

I need help with my long irons (3,4,5,6). It seems that i can never make good contact. For example when i hit my 5 iron it goes about as far as my 7 iron which is only like 160 and it's irritating because if i hit a bad drive im messed up for the hole. Any suggestions?

For your long irons, the ball position in your stance is important.
In order to get good contact, if you haven't already, try positioning the ball in your stance more toward your left food. So the ball will be forward in your stance allowing you to get better contact and get that ball higher in the air for your long irons.
