"When the men of the Phoenix Country Club saw their feeding ways in peril, they did not tarry. Some sent nasty e-mail messages, hectored players on the fairway and, for good measure, urinated on a fellow club member’s pecan tree."
Women at the club are not permitted to have lunch or drinks in the men’s grill room with their husbands after a round of golf; they have been barred from trophy ceremonies after tournaments, even ones they have sponsored; they have no place to have a friendly drink during the times the main dining room is closed. Women are relegated to the ladies’ grill, down the hall with a hot plate, some card tables and no bar.
Male non-members have more rights than paying female members. What do you think about the situation?
Why someone would want to be a member of a club like that I have no idea. Like mentioning Janet Napolitano's chief of staff who is a member and he has spoke out against its seperate dining areas... well why the hell is he even a member.
What I think about the situation is that if somewhat reasonable people would just not patronize the place instead of complaining about it but still paying their membership and attending that the place would go away on its own.
