golf shaft fitting where i was fit to a shaft with high torque. why?

I had a golf shaft fitting where i hit 6 balls and tracked them on a launch monitor. i miss hit all of them on the low heel instead of perfect center. So the pro fitted me with a shaft with high torque around 4.0 Now im a good player but had a off day. Did he give me a shaft with high torque bc i miss hit it or bc of something else?

Golf shaft torques are based on a scale of between 3 through 6 degrees. The reason you were on the low end of the scale means that you have a slower swing speed. A shaft on the high end of the scale would be for stronger players. The torque of the shaft has nothing to do with how you hit the ball, just how fast you swing the club. Hope this helps.
