Should hybrid drivers have to pay higher costs at the pump?
After all the current word is the local and federal governments are not making enough money from fuel consumption taxes. And obviously HYBRID drivers are driving the same roads we do - but not contributing as much tax revenue as the rest of us.
Should the tax-break they receive for purchasing the hybrids be discontinued and should they have to pay a large fee for disposal of the batteries when they go to the landfill?
No. It is funny that the governments use the excuse that they have such taxes in place, in part, to discourage over consumption but as soon as consumption falls and they lose dollars they have to scramble to figure out new ways to pick our pockets..
